Sauce: (I normally use marinara sauce but decided to try meat sauce)
1 pound sweet sausage
1 pound ground sirloin
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 can tomato paste
2 jars of Classico Four Cheese Sauce
1 tablespoon Oregano
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon fresh parsley
Cook the sausage and sirloin in olive oil until brown. Add the Oregano, garlic salt, pepper, and fresh parsley and finally the paste and sauces. Let simmer.
Pillsbury Classic Pizza Crust
Pepperoni (your choice)
Roll the dough out and layer the sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. Roll into a log with the opening sealed and on the side of the roll. Tuck the ends under the roll. I chose to combine butter and garlic powder, melted it for 30 seconds and glazed the tops of the rolls. Then I sprinkled some parmesan cheese on top for taste and texture. I used my parchment paper directly on my pan. I chose the recommended time and temperature (based on the pizza crust directions) but my oven tends to cook food faster so I just kept checking to see how the Stromboli's looked and when they turned golden brown, I knew they were done.
We couldn't finish it all so we have leftovers. With a tossed salad and some sweet tea, we will have another delicious dinner! Hope you enjoy my recipe! Let me know if you try it!!!
Note: I put a little bit of water in the sauce jars to swish around and get the remaining sauce added to my pan.
