Her article talks about how coffee is symbolic to her being a signifier in starting the day off on the right foot and that she’s doing everything right. How the smells and the taste can transport her back in time to a special moment or a feeling of accomplishment. As I read the article, I could feel the emotion behind her words and could relate to how it makes me feel. There is something wonderful about going to a cafe’, sitting down at a cute table in a cozy environment and feeling that delicious, smooth taste of one of the coffees I just ordered from a smorgasbord board of varieties.
My first cup of coffee was purchased from Starbuck’s in Weirton, WV with my sister. Although shopping with my sister is always fun, standing in a crowded line at Starbuck’s is not. I chose a White Chocolate Mocha because I love the sweetness and was pleasantly surprised that I liked it. My love for coffee was born on that day. When Thomas and I go on vacation, I always look for Coffee Houses for us to try. I use OpenTable for my go to in finding popular eateries. While in Charleston, SC, I used OpenTable and found a coffee house literally within walking distance from our hotel. What a wonderful morning we had enjoying the beautiful flowers and cobble stone path leading to our delicious coffee awaiting us! We found TOAST, an adorable breakfast place with white shudders and picket fence whose waiter made the most delicious Creme Brûlée Latte I have ever tasted! We literally ate at TOAST two mornings in a row because the food and coffee were soooo good!
